Second Week: Audience and Purpose
In the second week of English Writing Skills class, we have
learnt who are our audience and what the purpose when we are writing. Firstly,
we have learnt the definition of audience and identify our audience like their
age, gender, language, income, status, race and ethnicity. Other than that, we not
only learn the definition of purpose but also identify purpose of writing, for
example, describe, entertain, explain and persuade. Lastly, we have learnt
Rhetorical Triangle of writing. In Rhetorical Triangle, we need to focus on
three things which are Writer(Ethos), Audience(Pathos) and Context(Logos).
That’s what I learnt on second week of Intensive English Class.
A writer need to definite his/her purpose, audience, form and style in his/her
writing. In the class, our lecturer, Ms.Thinessa gave us a test and activity on
this week tutorial class. This can make us more understand the chapter that we
learnt on second week. Being a writer is not easy. Writing this blog is also
one of the difficult things for me but this is one of the leaning process!
Thank for reading my blog and have a nice day!
